Stylish Posters Of Music Videos By Federico Mancosu
To capture a famous video in one image isn’t as easy as you might think. Italian graphic designer Federico Mancosu came up with the idea (most definitely inspired by the Albert Exergian’s modernist TV-series posters) to do exactly this.
His slick minimalist style and nice color combination make these posters speak out almost as much as the videos did. Of course it’s not a coincidence Federico chose clips by great directors like Jonathan Glazer, Michel Gondry, Anton Corbijn, Spike Jonze, Mark Romanek, Chris Cunningham and Stephane Sednaoui. So another source of inspiration for Mancosu was undoubtedly the famous DVD collection Director’s Series that features all of these directors.
And The Emmy Goes To…
So yeah, I like TV-series. A lot. I’ve written about a bunch of them before on this blog, but I was happy to see that my taste was widely recognized by the Emmys as well yesterday night. In the 2010 Awards Mad Men (season 4 is again top notch) won the ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ deservedly and I was happy to see Breaking Bad being nominated. It made sense to me.
The best comedy on air right on must be Modern Family with Emmy winning actor Eric Stonestreet and the fact that they beat more established series like 30 Rock, The Office and Curb Your Enthusiasm was a bit of a surprise. A good one though. And even though Glee didn’t win that category Jane Lynch AKA Sue Sylvester did get

This Friday (27th of August 2010) we’ll see a rare combination of DJs at Istanbul’s best alternative club of the past two/three years. For the real minimal and techno lovers the German creme-de-la-creme will come over and among them is also Zip who used to be a regular supporting DJ at Istanbul parties. His extremely energetic and positive vibe is a wideknown fact and we can’t wait to see him play again!
Of course Dandy Jack & his wife Sonja Moonear’s live set as Junction SM won’t be too hard on the ears as well. I mean you would expect that these legendary names are enough to last us a couple of months, but there’s even more…

Istanbul Fashion Week 2010 Starts August 25th
Istanbul is going to be the center of attention again when Istanbul Fashion Week 2010 starts this Wednesday, August 25th on the ITÜ Taşkışla Campus near Taksim. Almost all the big Turkish fashion designers will be there to showcase their upcoming collections.
The designers that we’re especially looking forward to are all the designs of amazingly talented London-based designer Bora Aksu, the stylish and always on trend womenswear by Gamze Saraçoğlu and we hope to see some amazing menswear from Hatice Gökçe.

Come on guys, how long has it been since Avatar took over the world with the 3D aliens and all that hair sex stuff? Not even a year! And now we already have a 3D (!) HD (!!) Fujifilm camera. What the bleep is going on?
Of course we love the sharpness of HD and we might even like home 3D if you don’t have to wear ridonculous glasses that make you look like a geek and give you a drowsy feeling in the head. But we feel it’s just too soon for this point-and-shoot Finepix W3 Digital Camera.

Kaws + Mexican Beer Brand Dos Equis = Very Stylish Bottle
Orale carnal! La Onda por vida, essey! There’s no jura in this town that can do a Chicano U-turn! That should set the tone for the following post about Mexican beer company Dos Equis teaming up with world-famous artist Kaws to pimp two of their bottles.
Bottle pimping has been quite the thing lately and after the Spike Lee Absolut collabo we now see that Kaws went all out… not! I mean the bottles look nice, really nice, but it’s impossible to say that he has really done something amazing with them. Hennes & Mauritz could never have expected to get this big. They’ve taken the world over with their affordable fashion and now, even before their first store in Turkey opens, the H&M iPhone app hits the iTunes stores worldwide!
The little app they released today, 19th of August 2010, makes it possible to browse through the collections, get all the latest H&M buzz, be inspired by their Syle Guides for men and women!
The thing that appeals most to us is their wish list though. I mean, we can’t wait to add a new dimension to our H&M shopping ritual: now we’ll be checking the stuff first on the web, then when you’re on your way to the H&M store you can still eliminate some pieces from your wish list on your iPhone and then when you get there… you buy more than you needed anyways
