His slick minimalist style and nice color combination make these posters speak out almost as much as the videos did. Of course it’s not a coincidence Federico chose clips by great directors like Jonathan Glazer, Michel Gondry, Anton Corbijn, Spike Jonze, Mark Romanek, Chris Cunningham and Stephane Sednaoui. So another source of inspiration for Mancosu was undoubtedly the famous DVD collection Director’s Series that features all of these directors.

Besides the MJ poster we have chosen, the poster for Jamiroquai’s Virtual Insanity and Daft Punk’s Around The World are also very impressive. You can check them out here!

Nike is organizing one of the coolest and greatest events ever to hit Istanbul. We’re not talking about the biggest scale, we’re actually talking about something you and I find cool. Basketball courts, cool people (some famous Basketball players as well, haha!), an amazing location with an astonishing view, good music by good DJs, a sneaky AF1 9Designer Exhibition, and of course the first Lastik Pabuc Pop-up Store. You catch our drift, everybody should join us @ Platform Istanbul on September 1, 2 and 3!

This Friday (27th of August 2010) we’ll see a rare combination of DJs at Istanbul’s best alternative club of the past two/three years. For the real minimal and techno lovers the German creme-de-la-creme will come over and among them is also Zip who used to be a regular supporting DJ at Istanbul parties. His extremely energetic and positive vibe is a wideknown fact and we can’t wait to see him play again!

Of course Dandy Jack & his wife Sonja Moonear’s live set as Junction SM won’t be too hard on the ears as well. I mean you would expect that these legendary names are enough to last us a couple of months, but there’s even more…

Minimuzikhol has pulled it off to find an extra special sauce for the night: DJ Mark Ernestus aka Maurizio. The legendary name in the electronic music scene that combined dub and techno in the early nineties. I think we’re all really excited to be part of this amazing night. White people need a new lyrical savior after the failure of Eminem, Marky Mark and Snow. Mac Miller and Asher Roth are now the biggest contenders to prove that white people can rap and I think Mac’s mixtape K.I.D.S. is a good step for him to earn the crown (just so you know, the Beastie Boys be holding the hip hop belt for life so we’re not even going there).

The thing with Mac is though that he’s not that lyrically deep and only raps about his swagger and his moms occasionally. It makes him sound like a twelve-year old, but then again he probably is around 17.

This video is nicely shot and makes him look way more sophisticated than he is. So don’t expect to much, but enjoy the first 1:30 of Mac time and then some nice flows on ‘Nikes On My Feet’. Respect to Rex Arrow Films for this nice video!

In our 2nd year we expect to come even harder with some new brands, new clothing, a couple of events, a killer mixtape, more blog posts (haha!), and of course more sneakers! So keep an eye on the blog and I promise you that the website is going to be online before the end of the week and we’ll be back in business like you expect from us.

Now the following video might not be that creative as OK Go‘s video for ‘End Love‘, but the amount of sneakers and the way they pimped them puts a smile on my face. Of course the song is nice as well even though it’s not as good as what we’re used to from Audio Bullys.

Their latest album ‘Higher Than The Eiffel‘ has some ok songs, some bad songs and two really good ones. ‘The Future Belongs To Us‘ and ‘Dynamite‘ remind us of their best songs ‘Keep On Moving’, ‘All Sing Along’ and of course the monster hit ‘We Don’t Care’. Directed by Eric Gunther, Jeff Lieberman and the band itself, the band members sport colored tracksuits in this stop motion video. The quirky movements combined with the up-beat song and the time-lapse tricks make this a must-see video. The impressive thing is that it doesn’t look like their other video’s, but still is just as nice.

Of course I’m talking about the Efes Pilsen One Love Festival and this year at the ninth (!) edition they will have five venues and over twenty artists. Among the big international names performing are Groove Armada, The Ting Tings, Fischerspooner, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and our two favourites The Whitest Boy Alive and Wild Beasts!

Other interesting acts that are worth checking out are Just Jack (DJ set), The Revolters and Ilhan Erşahin. Of course there are many other good acts to make these two sunny days in June, the 19th and 20th, feel like the top of your Summer!

On a different note I have to say that the font on the flyer this year looks like absolute shit and that whole hippie 70′s flower power-style really sucks balls!

I thought friendship is forever and The Drums won’t last that long so I should definitely go to Paradiso and see them while I can, right?! But then I thought how special it was for Fabian and how he invited just his close friends to share this moment whit. By just being there and supporting him, I knew how much it would mean to him. Then again Matt & Kim and Diplo were also going to play at the concert in Paradiso…

Anyways, I guilt tripped myself and skipped The Drums to see Fabian and his seven retarded friends and one German weirdo play their music for around fourteen parents, three grandparents, seven cousins, eleven boyfriends/girlfriends and a few ‘best friends’. Needless to say it was the best night of my life and I didn’t think once about the concert I missed. Until I saw this video. Thanks Titus!

The boat will leave at 10:00 and return at 22:00 so you’re guaranteed to have 12 hours of chilling, eating, drinking, swimming, dancing and tanning for those of you who have a really busy job. Since the event is sponsored by Tuborg Gold it’s obvious that there will be beer, but there’s more than just alcmoholico.

It will all start with a nice breakfast around 11:00. Not leaving you hungry, just when you’ve digested your breakfast and had your first swim of the day, you can get out the water and enjoy your lunch with grilled chicken or meat, rice, a salad and more. I mean I’d go just for the food.

Then the DJs who will be playing on the boat: Fuchs, Dr. Rex, Doğukan İres, İlkay Türk and Eda Akman. Sounds like pretty solid line-up. The build-up is also good so the later it gets, the more the music makes you want to get up and dance. Early hour chilling is ok and the Tavla tournament that will take place is another way of relaxation.

For those of you who can’t make it on such short notice to the 1st Mentha Boat, the other editions are on the 4th of July, 18th of July and 1st of August. All on lazy Sundays so mark those dates with a boat and a smiling sun or something in your calendars.

Prices are 50 TL in advance and 60 at the door (of the boat). Breakfast and lunch are included! For the sleepyheads there’s also a wake-up service if you leave your number.
